Alpha Mensae

Alpha Mensae is a G5V star with no known companion stars or planets, just over 33 light years from Earth.  Metallicity is about the same as Sol’s, and it’s around 5 billion years old.  Interestingly, although it’s a prime possibility for habitable worlds, the only reference to it in SF that I could find was in a Star Trek novel called Spock, Messiah!  (Exclamation point is in the title.)

ETA: Bryden et al give a possible upper limit of 10.5 billion years.
