Chi (1) Orionis

A G0V star, 28 light years away, with an M companion whose eccentric orbit brings it close to the primary -- so close that the system probably does not have any useful worlds. Also, it appears to be under half a billion years old.
As seen from Earth, this star and Chi (2) Orionis appear to be a matched pair of stars, but in reality (2) is much bigger, much hotter and much farther away (around 5000 light years!)
