GJ 1021/HD 4391
Oct. 18th, 2010 05:59 pmThis star has a “Gliese and Jarheiss” catalogue number instead of a “Gliese” number because it hadn’t been discovered at the time Gliese compiled his original catalogue, but was known to exist by the time the updated version came out! It’s almost 49 light years from Sol in the constellation Phoenix, a G3V dwarf that is probably only a billion years old or so. Metallicity is very close to that of Sol.
